This is a story of a boy named David. He was a tall, skinny boy and was very much brainy. He wasn't that popular in school and he had only two best friends, James and Joe. David was loved by his friends and family, but there was one quality in him which made him a bit detestable. That was anger. Whenever he used to get angry, he had the habit of throwing things out of his bedroom window and whoever tried to calm him down had to hear 'unpleasant words' from his mouth. That used to hurt everyone's feelings around him. His dad realized that now it was peak time for his son to learn to control his anger. For that he got a very good idea. He told his son to keep a small pearl in the dustbin and to throw rubbish in it whenever he lost his temper. David did what his dad told him to do. Whenever he got mad at someone, he took some stones, empty cans and bottles and threw them with full force in the dustbin. This process continued for days and slowly David was learning to control his bad temper. After a month, David's father noticed that the dustbin was completely filled and then he told David to put his hand in it and to find that small pearl which he had kept on the first day. David tried to find that pearl but he was not successful. He then emptied the dustbin by turning it upside down and then tried to search for the pearl. He finally got it and gave the pearl to his dad.
"I got the pearl father" he told him proudly.
His father smiled and said, "What's the use of the pearl now? It is completely spoiled and dusty."
"So you should not have told me to keep the pearl in the dustbin on the first place!" David exclaimed casually.
His father pressed the pearl in his palm and said, "This pearl is the love that someone has for you in his heart. When you lose your temper and say something bad to the person, the love starts fading away. The bad words that come from your mouth are these bottles, stones and cans which you threw in the dustbin for a month. At the end when you try to find that love, it is very difficult for you to gain it back because the heart is now filled only with sorrows and negative things. And even if you find it, what's the use? The wounds can never be filled."
David realized his mistake and apologized to his father. He then promised him that he would never hurt anyone's feelings in anger.
