The Interview

Exams are always considered as a 'necessary evil' in the minds of young children/adults. Today, I am going to interview two renowned personalities of the world, Rapunzel whose acting is worth appreciating in the movie Tangled, and Merida, who is a fantastic archer in the movie Brave. Let us see what are their opinions with respect to exams.

Me: I am very glad to have an interview with you two.
Miss Rapunzel, what are your opinions regarding
exams? Is there a need to ban them?

R:   I think exams are really very challenging.
It makes us more smart than we are and
is helpful in brightening our future. They
       are so exciting!

Me: What are your views Miss Merida?

M:    I do not agree with Rapunzel. Exams
literally kills you! You have to study
day and night for a stupid test and
then you end up getting a 'F'. What
         an injustice!

Me: Would you like to comment on this
        Miss Rapunzel?

R:    You are not at all optimistic Merida.
If you study hard, you can definitely
        get an A+!

M:   But what about my freedom? I can't
        remove time for archery!

R:   You know nothing about time-
       management. If you have watched
Tangled, you would see I value my
       time so well!

M:  Yeah. Then get stuck up with
       Eugene!

Me: I think we are getting a bit
       distracted from our topic.

R:  Exams are very essential. I
love to read and I also remove
time to play with Pascal. I have
also managed to see the flying
      lanterns!

M:  You haven't given any test in
       your film blondie. Don't show-
off just because you have got
       magical hair!

R:   I am not showing-off! You
are trying to act so smart as
if you have written many tests
       in Brave!

M:  I changed my mother back
into a human being! That is
more or less like a test!

R:   And you were only respon-
sible for turning her into a
       bear!

Me:  Relax ladies. This is not
         a debate.

 R:   ( Taking a deep breath)
        Exams make us realise
        about our weaknesses.
As it did to you Merida.

M:    Wrong. It turns your life
         more miserable as it did
         to me.

R:    Once again Merida. You
        were responsible for that.

M:   So now you accept that
        my adventure was like an
        exam?

R:   No. I am just making you
       realize that you were so
       selfish.

Me: We are not here to discuss
        about your roles!

R:    Getting out of the tower was
like a test for me. It made me
more strong and also made me
        realize about my biggest mistake,
that I did not trust Eugene.

M:   I am here to discuss about written
        tests!

R:   So what? Exams are exams.

M:  You mean spending time with
a lover is like an exam?

R:   That's an exam coupled with
       destiny.

M:   So even I faced a similar situation!

Me:  Enough you two! I think I should
        better stop this interview.

R:    I agree. I only like to converse
        with 'like-minded' creatures.

M:   I am friendly to only those people,
who are brave enough to understand
         mantras pertaining to success.

(They both storm away through different exits)

He is not an Alien!

,

The colour doesn't decide,
the fate you behold,
With your head held high,
Speak out the words untold.

Rise each time you fall,
awaken your brave spirit,
Criticizes filled in the darkest hall,
will find you who deserves the greatest
credit.

Don't be heart-broken,
because there is lot to win,
Beauty is not the ultimate goal,
to be a black is not a sin!

In the world filled with sorrows,
you are not the only one to suffer,
Humanity means to share and borrow,
don't you hide under the cover!

Every drop of your sweat,
will bring you the love,
You are not just a mere pet,
as you too dazzle like a
shining dove!

The Letter

My dear child,

I am very sorry for your loss. I know how it feels to lose such a beloved person, who is the backbone of the family. Your father was a great friend of mine and he was indeed a very humble person. The most precious jewel he ever got in his life was you, Harry. When he was counting his last breath, he gave me the most important responsibility and that is to take care of you until you grow up into a responsible gentleman. I very well know that I would never be able to take your father's position. But I would try my level best to mould my personality like his very own reflection. I feel very grateful to become your Godfather Harry. Feel free to express your feelings and opinions with me, those would never be left unheard and unvalued. I promise to you that I would support you and encourage you in every walks of your life. I am ready to fill the void with positive vibes that your father has left in your heart. Never think that you are alone. As a fairy suddenly enters in every fairytale, I would beautify your life with vibrant colours of love, care, affection and success.

Yours lovingly,
Cedric.

The path to win someone's heart....

Once upon a time in a place unknown lived a very talented painter named Hugo. He was known for his beautiful paintings and it was his only livelihood. He lived in a cottage with his dear mother   who was weak because of her prolonged illness. Hugo had a best friend named Fred and he was a talented dancer. While Hugo would be busy doing his paintings, Fred would entertain the crowd with his beautiful dance and money earned was distributed among themselves to sort out their financial crisis. They both were quite happy in their lives when one day King George announced, "I am looking out for a boy who is suitable enough to become my daughter's fiancĂ©'. I am least bothered whether he belongs to a rich family or poor, I just want him to be an excellent dancer. I will be throwing a big party tomorrow at my palace and I wish that the future king of our kingdom would be present too!"
"I want to attend the party" Hugo said excitedly to Fred when they were having their dinner,"you very well know that I love Princess Tina a lot."
"I think you should give it a try then" Fred said, patting Hugo on his back.
"But how? Only an excellent dancer can win Tina's heart!" Hugo exclaimed with disgrace.
Fred bit his lip and got engrossed in his own thoughts. Meanwhile Hugo fed his mother and then an idea struck him.
"Fred! I got an excellent idea!"
Fred did not pay attention to him and Hugo smacked on his head.
"Ouch! What's wrong with you?" Fred snapped.
"Just come out of your dream world and listen to me! I have got a brilliant idea! What if you attend the party tomorrow and pretend as if its me?"
"Rubbish."
"Wear a mask so that no one can recognize you and when told to introduce yourself, just tell that my name is Hugo."
Fred thought for a moment and said,"But that's cheating."
"Oh come on! Can't you do this much for your best friend?"
With exaggerated pleadings and requests, Fred finally agreed to attend the party as Hugo.
When asked by the king, he danced gracefully in the party and became the centre of attraction. He was mysterious in the eyes of others' because of his black mask and as planned, he told that his name was Hugo.
Fred had to attend many functions organized by the king and slowly he found himself falling in love with the princess. Princess Tina admired him too and she was very desperate to see his face.
"I don't care if you are not good looking" she said him in one of the parties," I just know that you have got a wonderful heart."
Fred used to feel very guilty and he felt like telling Tina the entire truth but for his friend's sake, he hid his feelings reluctantly.
The wedding day finally arrived and Hugo himself attended it, wearing the same black mask. When the rings were finally to be exchanged, Hugo removed his black mask and surprised the audience. Princess Tina was very happy as her love finally showed his true identity. Before he could exchange the ring with Tina, King George interrupted suddenly,"I want Hugo to do his last performance."
Everyone was shocked and Tina whispered in her father's ear, "Please father. Today is my wedding! Is this the perfect time for all this?"
"Of course my dear daughter. A last performance. For Hugo!" The audience cheered and Hugo got very scared. He looked at Fred who  was trying to avoid him. He looked at Tina and then at King George. He looked towards the audience who was eager to see his dance. He had no choice but to give up.
"I cannot dance" he said loudly with his head bent low, "because all this time, my friend was dancing for me." There was a dead silence and Hugo continued, "I am a painter and not a dancer. I love Princess Tina and in order to impress her, I told my friend Fred to dance for me and to win her heart. I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. I am very sorry." Hugo wept hysterically and fell on his knees. King George kept his hand on Hugo's shoulder and said, "Get up my child." Hugo got up but could not meet eyes with the king.
The king then said, "I have heard a lot about you Hugo. You are very famous and talented and hence I know who you are. On the very first day I realized that something was wrong when your friend Fred introduced himself as Hugo. I have not seen you, is confidence my child. But I have not even heard about you is over-confidence. I agree that you love my daughter. But if you really want to achieve what you desire, then you should learn to choose the right path. Short-cut can bring you happiness for sometime but not for entire life time. And if you want to win someone's heart, then first be honest with yourself because honesty is very important in any relationship."
Hugo apologized to the king and called Fred to join them. He took Fred's hand and kept it on Tina's.
"You two deserve to be together." He looked at the king and the king smiled.
Fred and Tina got married and they lived happily ever after.....

Unknown talents!!!

Raj and his friends were shopping at Mall Road in Shimla. The ambience was cool and calm, Raj was busy clicking photographs of the scenic beauty. Doing so, he suddenly saw a beggar sitting on the edge of the road, and a small girl was holding a board beside him. When he came close, Raj read the written words on the board. 'My father cannot see....please donate some rupees.'  Raj looked at the girl's father who was not that old, maybe in his mid 30's and was busy listening to the radio. There was a smile on his face as he was listening to music and he was tapping his feet gently. The small girl smiled at Raj and said, "Can you give us some rupees?"  Raj did not reply anything and he called his friends. He told his friends to surround him and he was whispering something. The girl was confused and dejected, she sat beside her father. One of Raj's friends turned on his MP3 and an old Hindi song started playing in it. All his friends started dancing in a circle and Raj requested the blind man to dance with him. At the beginning he was a bit scared, but Raj somehow convinced him. He took his hand and encouraged him to dance. The blind man slowly started dancing and in no time, he was dancing in full swing with the entire gang. Raj and his friends started doing the signature step and the blind man started doing it too, although he was blind! Till then, many people had gathered around to enjoy their performance and Raj took the bowl from that girl's hand and started collecting money. After the dance was over, he gave the bowl to the blind man and said, "Congratulations! You have collected 50 rupees! Isn't that a big success for you?"
The blind man took Raj's hand and thanked him. He said, "It's all because of you son. Thank you very much."
"You are wrong. The credit should go to you. Though you are blind, you have got a very good talent in you and that is dancing! I realized this when I saw you listening to the radio and you were tapping your feet. Uncle, please use your talent. You can reach greater heights in future. This talent is definitely going to help you in life."
The blind man hugged Raj and kissed his forehead. "You are an angel in my life. I am never going to forget you."

Everyone is special on this earth. Whatever the circumstances are, a person should know to identify his inborn talents and work on it. This can help you to make your life more simple and beautiful. Never lose hope and be confident of yourself.

Anger is man's worst enemy!

This is a story of a boy named David. He was a tall, skinny boy and was very much brainy. He wasn't that popular in school and he had only two best friends, James and Joe. David was loved by his friends and family, but there was one quality in him which made him a bit detestable. That was anger. Whenever he used to get angry, he had the habit of throwing things out of his bedroom window and whoever tried to calm him down had to hear 'unpleasant words' from his mouth. That used to hurt everyone's feelings around him. His dad realized that now it was peak time for his son to learn  to control his anger. For that he got a very good idea. He told his son to keep a small pearl in the dustbin and to throw rubbish in it whenever he lost his temper. David did what his dad told him to do. Whenever he got mad at someone, he took some stones, empty cans and bottles and threw them with full force in the dustbin. This process continued for days and slowly David was learning to control his bad temper. After a month, David's father noticed that the dustbin was completely filled and then he told David to put his hand in it and to find that small pearl which he had kept on the first day. David tried to find that pearl but he was not successful. He then emptied the dustbin by turning it upside down and then tried to search for the pearl. He finally got it and gave the pearl to his dad.
"I got the pearl father" he told him proudly.
His father smiled and said, "What's the use of the pearl now? It is completely spoiled and dusty."
"So you should not have told me to keep the pearl in the dustbin on the first place!" David exclaimed casually.
His father pressed the pearl in his palm and said, "This pearl is the love that someone has for you in his heart. When you lose your temper and say something bad to the person, the love starts fading away. The bad words that come from your mouth are these bottles, stones and cans which you threw in the dustbin for a month. At the end when you try to find that love, it is very difficult for you to gain it back because the heart is now filled only with sorrows and negative things. And even if you find it, what's the use? The wounds can never be filled."
David realized his mistake and apologized to his father. He then promised him that he would never hurt anyone's feelings in anger.

Happy Mothers' Day!!!

A baby boy was sitting in front of a big LCD screen and was looking continuously at the picture being viewed on it. It was the picture of a lady, whose eyes were as beautiful as diamond and her smile was warm and heart-melting.
"Who is she?" the baby asked when a figure wearing a white cloak stood beside him.
"Oh. You didn't recognize?" the person asked him.
"No. Who is she?"
"Your mother."
The baby boy looked confused for a while and looked in the eyes of the person standing beside him.
"What is a mother?"
The man in the white cloak laughed. "There are millions of words to  describe a mother. In simple words, she is your mummy."
The baby boy looked more confused. "What is a mummy?"
"The one who cares for you, cries when you cry and laughs when you laugh."
"That means she is a very nice person?" the boy asked cheerfully.
"Not a nice person. She is the most wonderful person. Her heart is like a big ocean and hence she can love anybody who enters in her life."
"Is she going to love me?" the boy asked, pointing towards the picture which is being viewed on the screen.
"You are a small part of her soul which is taking a new shape and is going to separate itself from her soul to form a new individual. You are her angel. Of course she is going to love you!"
"Am I the only angel in her life?"
"No. She has an entire family filled of angels. For their happiness and well being, she is struggling day and night, killing her aspirations and dreams. Her heart is like an ocean of secrets. So many dreams and wishes are getting buried in it and this process is so painful!"
"What does she do to remove the pain?"
"Her family comes to know about her pain by seeing the tears in her eyes. Those tear drops reflect her agony, pain and trauma. So precious but yet not valued!"
The baby boy was sad."What can I do to remove her pain?"
"Love her as much as you can and respect her. These are the most wonderful gifts you can give her in life! Women are sensitive and hence don't try to play with their feelings. Give her love and she would cherish it the entire eternity!"
"When am I going to meet her?" the boy asked excitedly.
"The moment she cries loudly and shouts,'Help! The baby's coming!'"

Loneliness

When I feel lonely,
tears shadow my smile.
The world seems smoky,
my heart sinks for a while.

Happiness goes away,

as a soul separates from its body,
Damn! I am not that lucky!
To fall has become my hobby.

I feel so bored and restless!

How can I sing my heart's desire?
Anger has made me breathless,
Will the time change? I enquire.

With a sad face I sat,

in a dark room I guess,
Wearing my trouble free hat,
I thought of getting out of this mess.

Happiness comes from within,
which helps to break down the wall,
I can't let this feeling win,
So its time to give a final call.

What happens if there is no one?

I still have a long way to go,
Loneliness exists  for time being,
My angels would destroy this foe.

Lara's over-sized heart....

Lara was 11 years old when she finally plucked up courage to join a school. She was an AIDS patient and her parents were quite afraid to send her to any school. When a friend of theirs encouraged them to shun away the negative attitude, Lara got confidence to lead a normal life like others. Lara was a clever student and teachers were quite impressed about her performance. Her classmates, however, maintained distance from her and hardly even talked to her because she was suffering from AIDS. Lara was sad but she didn't want to express her feelings in front of her parents because she didn't want to disappoint them. Days passed on and Lara was alone, but she admired a boy in her class named Dev. Like her, he was a know-it-all and was an all-rounder. Because of his capabilities and talents, Lara wished to be his friend. He was the most popular boy in the batch and he belonged to a very big gang, fighting, laughing and having fun with his friends. Lara always looked at him with anticipation that someday they would be best friends and she would have someone to share her feelings with. Dev however ignored her and whenever she tried to strike up a conversation with him, he used to roll his eyes and walk away. His gang members used to laugh at Lara and she used to run out of the class, crying. Lara was lonely and she used to curse herself for being an AIDS patient.  But she couldn't just give up like that. Her admission in school was only possible because of her Uncle, who was the trustee.  She had promised him that she would never let him down.  The following day when she entered in her class, she found out that her classmates were engrossed in a discussion. She asked a girl about the matter and she told her in a horrified way,"Dev met with an accident! His forehead has got completely burned!" Lara was taken aback. That was the first time a soul had spoken to her but she never wanted to hear this from someone's mouth! After school, she decided to meet Dev.  Dev was with his mother in the house when Lara rang the bell.  His mother gave Lara the permission to meet him and he was in his bedroom, lying on the bed and tears were rolling down his eyes. When he saw Lara, he got angry and threw a pillow on her face.
"Go away!" he shouted angrily, "I know you have come here to make fun of me!"
Lara placed the pillow on the chair beside her and said politely,"I have come here to see how you are Dev. Why would I on earth make fun of you? I know how it feels. I am an AIDS patient. People don't even like to mingle with me. But still I am trying to live happily so that one day I can prove everyone what I am. Don't lose your self-confidence just because your forehead has got burned. I am still there for you. For me, you are the same guy I awe since the first day."
Dev was shocked. Lara then used to visit his house everyday and made cookies for him. They talked, laughed and slowly they became good friends. Dev started liking Lara and he even told his friends to be friendly with her. Lara became popular and was surrounded by friends who supported her.

This is where humanity lies............

Awesome way to make a story!

Well, we all know that building up a story in the mind is not a child's play! But I have come across a fantastic idea which may help many of the readers who are planning to build up a story. The idea is to visit a riverside and concentrate on the flowing water and damn it really works! When I had gone to Bangkok during holidays, my aunt told me about this idea and I thought of trying it. It was night time and I was continuously concentrating on the waves. Few minutes passed away and I could not make up any story.  Suddenly I looked towards the sky and saw a shining star. My mind started racing and there I got it! I wouldn't like to discuss my story publicly,(as it is private) but whoever tries this is going to be successful in finding out a story. Guys, it really works! Try it out, work on it and I am sure one day you would emerge as a talented writer!

Thank You!

Nature:Our Last Hope

Nature:Our Last Hope.

As I step out of my new home,
which is made of nature,
In a beautiful forest, I decide to roam,
and have an encounter with creature.

The creature smiles,
through which it creates a day,
Birds fly across hundred miles,
to meet their loved ones at bay.

He looks all around,
to feast his eyes on nature's beauty,
My head held high, I declare,
'Sir, I have finished my duty!'

A smile on his face but sadness in eyes,
he takes my hand,
'Nature dies, he dies,
As quickly as it slithers from the hand like sand.'

I pursed my lips,
made several excuses and promises,
To which he clearly said:
'Nature can be saved through many responses!'

The world is our mother,
the one who gave us all birth,
To save her, we don't bother,
making the life end on earth.

A heart-touching incident....

Maya was in sixth standard when she had to attend her sister's wedding in Kerala. She was very excited and thrilled as she was going to attend her own caste wedding for the first time. Everything was perfect, the bride looking very pretty in her white saree with a golden border and the bridegroom in his white washed shirt and a dhoti. The wedding ended up successfully and the lunch served was a typical dish of Kerala which was quite scrumptious. Maya was having a good time with her sisters but she could not ignore the fact that she was missing her grandmother very badly. She felt quite strange as the feeling suddenly sank in and it has been eight years since her grandmother's death. Maya was very much pampered by her and her grandmother used to always gift her the favourite chocolates and ice-creams for which Maya always cribbed for. When the event was finally over, followed with unhappy goodbyes, Maya sat with her mother and shared the feeling with her. Her mother simply said,"It was my mother's dream to attend all the weddings of our family, but her wish was however not fulfilled. I feel she misses us more than what we do."
"How do you know that?" Maya asked innocently.
Her mother smiled at her. "I just know. I can feel her vibes sometimes."
Maya couldn't understand a single thing. That night however she realized what her mother's words really meant.
It was midnight when Maya suddenly woke up from her sleep. The windows of the room were wide open and through her squinted eyes, she saw golden flame burning outside her window. It was a small flame and only darkness surrounded it. As she was sleepy and a bit scared, she didn't check out what exactly was burning outside.
Suddenly, her mother's voice echoed in her mind."I feel she misses us more than what we do."

Sometimes dead miss us more than we do. Do not laugh at others' beliefs which you may find stupid at that moment but may soon make your eyes open some day or other.Believe in God. Believe in belief.

Why teachers are so special......

What can teachers be defined as? Our role-model? Our guide? or to
be more specific, a philosopher? Well, it is easy to give such titles to
our teachers but do we in reality respect that? I feel most of the stud-
ents use such 'whimsical terms' just for the sake of doing it. In simple words
they just do this to create a good image for themselves and to
impress their teachers. No feelings are emitted from the core of their
hearts. The generation is changing rapidly and with them their ideas
and opinions. Unlike few years ago,the youngsters show no respect
for their teachers. A lot of ego and attitude has blocked their minds
to view a broader picture. I have experienced this a lot during my
school days where my friends who used to once be 'teacher's pet'
are now considering themselves superior to them. They try to corr-
ect them and ridicule them in front of the entire class. All scoldings
and punishments just stand worthless. The students don't even care.
For them this is all 'fun.' But according to me, this is all stupidity.
Of course all the teachers cannot be perfect with all the concepts.
They can make mistakes as they too are human beings but one thing
which has to be kept in mind is that they are more experienced and
sensible than us. We can never realize their importance during this
age but when we grow up and stand in their position,it makes things
more clearer for us. I love my teachers and I wholeheartedly respect
them for whatever they have done for me. Sometimes they do become
harsh and arrogant towards us but they do that only for our benefit,
just what our parents do. Please don't take it in a negative way and
produce grudge for them in your mind. All the basic values which
has to be imbibed by us are fading away and it is the foremost duty
of us to stop this. We have started taking things really lightly and if
this continues, there is going to be no future for us. Love your teachers
and accept them as they are, neglecting the flaws and negative things.
They just wish that their students secure good marks in the subjects
which they are teaching and remember them as they cleared all the
doubts and misunderstandings. They never wished for expensive
gifts or greeting cards from our side. Give them love and respect and
they would value it, as they always get those vibes.
I am sure that whoever is reading this already knows about the things
which I have discussed but a handful of them puts this into practice.
Just be yourself and give respect. Gain respect. Your teachers will
not remember you because you are an intelligent student! They will
remember you for the values that portray your personality and the gol-
den heart that you possess.

Thank You!
