Great Expectations

I saw a full moon,
during a cold  night,
It's presence was itself
a boon,
In the shape of a divine
light.

It's beauty made me smile,
her memories I cherish,
Soon became a dumb friend,
I never wanted her to perish.

The stars circled her,
painting a beautiful scene,
Best companions we turned into,
Felt as lucky as a queen!

That night was a misery,
when only stars were seen,
Moon's absence was a mystery,
I sank in anger and grief.

I wanted my feelings to fly,
so it could reach the moon,
Swinging in trauma I ignored
the stars,
Who advised to not to expect high.

As suns rose and sank,
I learned something new,
Friendship is not in chains,
It's about trust in form of dew.
